Nuapada | July 14 The 98th death anniversary of Utkalmani Pandit Gopabandhu Das was observed with due solemnity at the Sadbhavana Hall in Nuapada on Monday. The tribute meeting was jointly organised by the District Culture Council and the Nuapada District Administration. Addressing the gathering as the chief guest, Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Dash paid rich tributes to Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das, remembering his exemplary life, selfless service, and immense contribution to society. He said that true journalists possess multidimensional abilities and play a vital role in bringing people’s real issues to the forefront while extending constructive support to the administration. The Collector noted that the newspaper ‘The Samaja’, founded by Gopabandhu Das, was not merely a publication but a powerful movement for public awakening and social service. He emphasised that inspiring the younger generation to study Gopabandhu’s life and follow his ideals would be the most meaningful tribute to the legendary leader. Renowned educationist Prabodh Kumar Hota, the keynote speaker, highlighted Gopabandhu Das’ contributions to social service, education, journalism, and nation-building. Additional District Magistrate Subash Chandra Rait, Additional Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Kshamanidhi Bhoi, and The Samaja District Correspondent Simanchal Mahapatra also paid floral tributes and spoke on Gopabandhu’s philosophy of humanity and public service. District Culture Officer Ramesh Meher, along with district-level officials from various departments, attended the programme. The event was coordinated by District Sanitation Coordinator Anil Kumar Lenka, while District Sports Officer Rajendra Prasad Badhai proposed the vote of thanks.

Nuapada | July 14 As part of its Seva Saptah (Service Week) observance, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) Bajrang Dal, Nuapada District (Odisha West), organised a tree plantation drive at Lanjmar village in Nuapada district on Tuesday. The initiative aimed to promote environmental conservation, increase green cover, and spread awareness about the importance of creating a healthy and sustainable environment for future generations. Several saplings were planted during the programme, and participants urged people to actively take part in tree plantation activities to protect the environment. The programme was attended by District Convener Naru Singh Pandey, along with Gokul Sahu, Tikam Sahu, Parmeshwar Sahu, Parmeshwar Chauhan, Toshan Yadav, Somnath Yadav, and Shitesh Sahu, who actively participated in making the event a success. The tree plantation drive, organised under the Seva Saptah campaign, was appreciated by local residents for its message of environmental responsibility and community participation.

Komna, July 13: A district-level public grievance hearing camp was held at the Komna Block premises in Nuapada district on Monday under the chairmanship of Collector Madhusudan Dash. The camp was organised to ensure prompt redressal of public grievances and make government services more accessible and citizen-centric. A total of 74 grievances were received during the hearing, including 61 individual and 13 collective petitions. Collector Dash personally heard the grievances and directed the concerned district-level and departmental officials to take immediate and effective steps for their timely resolution. On the occasion, Sahanaz Begum and Jagadish Deep were provided immediate financial assistance of ₹5,000 each from the Indian Red Cross Fund. In recognition of their outstanding contribution to sanitation and cleanliness, Kaushalya Majhi of Darlipada Gram Panchayat, Nilachakra Majhi of Pendraban Gram Panchayat, and Dayanidhi Duria of Budhikomna Gram Panchayat were felicitated with the ‘Swachhata Doot’ award. Among those present at the camp were Chief Development Officer Lambodar Dharua, Sub-Collector Surmi Soren, Chief District Medical and Public Health Officer Dr. Dwarikanath Satpathy, Additional Superintendent of Police Ranjit Nayak, Regional Divisional Forest Officer Aziz Khan, and Komna Block Vice-Chairman Jayadev Pradhan. Khariar, July 13: Residents of Khariar in Nuapada district have received a significant green gift with the inauguration of the newly developed Nagar Van (Urban Forest) by the Forest Department. Designed to enhance the town’s natural beauty, promote environmental conservation, and provide citizens with a clean and refreshing recreational space, the project is expected to emerge as a major ecological and tourism attraction in the region. The Urban Forest was formally inaugurated during a special ceremony by Kalahandi Member of Parliament Malvika Devi and Khariar MLA Adhiraj Mohan Panigrahi. Khariar Municipality Chairperson Ujjwal Gupta and several senior Forest Department officials attended the programme as distinguished guests. Among the officials present were Bhawanipatna PF Santosh Joshi, Khariar DFO Ajit Khan, Prasannajit Nayak, Sitaram Sir, Sudam Kumar, and Parmananda Tandi, who supervised and coordinated the successful organisation of the event. According to the Forest Department, the Nagar Van will remain open to visitors daily from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Entry has been made affordable for everyone, with tickets priced at ₹5 for children aged 4 to 12 years and ₹10 for visitors above 12 years of age. The inauguration witnessed the participation of hundreds of local residents, including women, youth, children, and senior citizens, who explored the lush green surroundings and appreciated the serene atmosphere of the newly developed urban forest. Speaking on the occasion, the guests described the Nagar Van as much more than a recreational park. They said it would serve as an important centre for environmental awareness, healthy living, and nature conservation while providing a peaceful retreat for families, morning walkers, tourists, and nature lovers. Khariar, July 13: An emotional farewell ceremony was organised on Monday at the Kuligaon Ashram School campus in Nuapada district to honour Rajat Kumar Sahu, Welfare Extension Officer (WEO) of Khariar Block, in recognition of his dedicated service and significant contribution to the field of education. The programme, chaired by Sushil Kumar, witnessed the participation of teachers, school staff, and prominent members of the local community, who came together to express their gratitude and appreciation for Mr. Sahu’s commitment, professionalism, and people-centric approach during his tenure. Serving in Khariar Block for nearly three years, Mr. Sahu earned widespread respect for his sincere efforts in strengthening educational activities and supporting the development of Ashram schools across the block. He has recently been transferred and has joined his new assignment at Nimapada in Puri district. Several educationists and headmasters paid rich tributes to his service during the farewell function. Komna: July 13: In a major breakthrough against wildlife crime, the Komna Forest Division of Nuapada district has arrested four alleged poachers for illegally hunting a wild boar using live electric wires. The operation highlights the Forest Department’s continued efforts to curb poaching and protect wildlife in the region. Acting on reliable intelligence, a special team of the Komna Forest Division conducted a surprise raid at Bhalukona village. During the operation, the accused were allegedly found inside a paddy threshing yard cutting wild boar meat and preparing it for sale. Forest officials apprehended them on the spot and seized approximately 2.2 kilograms of wild boar meat from the site. The arrested persons have been identified as Madhab Majhi, Somnath Sahu, Dilip Majhi, and Bhuban Majhi. According to the preliminary investigation, the accused had laid live electric wires inside the forest to trap and kill wild boars—an illegal practice that poses a serious threat not only to wildlife but also to humans and domestic animals entering the area. Forest officials revealed that the four accused are repeat offenders. They had reportedly been arrested around six months ago in connection with a similar wildlife hunting case. After securing bail, they are alleged to have resumed the same illegal activities, prompting the department to treat the latest offence with greater seriousness. Officials stated that poaching of wild animals is a grave offence under wildlife protection laws and poses a significant threat to biodiversity and ecological balance. They further informed that surveillance and patrolling across forest areas will be intensified to prevent such incidents and ensure strict enforcement against wildlife crimes. The Forest Department’s prompt action has been widely appreciated by local residents, who have urged the authorities to continue taking stringent measures against illegal hunting and wildlife trafficking to safeguard the region’s rich natural heritage.

Sinapali, July 12 Marking the completion of 12 years of the Narendra Modi-led Central Government, an Intellectuals’ and Retired Employees’ Conference was organised at the Raj Darbar Hall in Khariar, Nuapada district. The event served as a platform to reflect on the government’s achievements while highlighting key developmental priorities for the Khariar region. The programme was attended by Kalahandi Member of Parliament Malvika Devi as the chief guest. Addressing the gathering, she said that the Modi Government had set a remarkable record by providing stable governance over the past 12 years and implementing several landmark decisions and transformative reforms. She emphasized that achieving the vision of “Viksit Bharat @ 2047” would require the active participation and collective efforts of every citizen. She also underlined the important role of intellectuals and retired government employees in taking welfare schemes to the grassroots level and creating greater public awareness. ଗଞ୍ଜାମ: ଖଲ୍ଲିକୋଟ:୧୩/୦୭ , ବଣମଲ୍ଲୀ ବଣରେ ମ ଉ ଳି ଲା ଭଳି ଏମିତି ବହୁତ ଅମ୍ଳାନ ପ୍ରତିଭା ଲୁକ୍କାୟିତ ହୋଇ ପଡ଼ିଛି ବୋଲି କହିଲେ ଅତ୍ୟୁକ୍ତି ହେବ ନାହିଁ। ଏ ଅବସରରେ ଜ୍ଵଳନ୍ତ ଉଦାହରଣ ହୃଦୟସ୍ପର୍ଶୀ ଜଣେ ଅଧ୍ୟୟନ ରତ ଛାତ୍ରୀ ନିଜର ପାରଦର୍ଶିତା ବଳରେ ବିଭିନ୍ନ ପ୍ରକାର କଳା ପ୍ରଦର୍ଶନ କରୁଥିବା ପରିଲକ୍ଷିତ ହୋଇଛି। ଖବର ନେବାରୁ ଜଣାପଡିଛି ଯେ, ଗଞ୍ଜାମ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଛତ୍ରପୁର ସ୍ଥିତ ଦେବୀ ନଗର ର ଵରିଷ୍ଠ ଆଇନ୍ ଜୀଵୀ ଶ୍ରୀ ସୁରେନ୍ଦ୍ର ନାଥ ପଣ୍ଡା ଙ୍କ କନ୍ୟା ଶୁଭସ୍ମିତା ପଣ୍ଡା। ଶୁଭସ୍ମିତା ପାରଳା ମହାରାଜା ଇଞ୍ଜିନିୟରିଂ କଲେଜ ରେ ଚତୁର୍ଥ ବର୍ଷ ରେ ପଦାର୍ପଣ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ଜଣେ ଚିତ୍ରକଳା କାର, ଲେଖିକା କ୍ଷେତ୍ରରେ ବେଶ ଅଗ୍ରଣୀ ଭୂମିକା ଗ୍ରହଣ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ନିଜର ପାଠପଢ଼ା ସହିତ କଳାକାର ହିସାବରେ ମାତ୍ର ୪୫ମିନିଟ୍ ରେ ମହମ ଓକାଗଜରେ ୧୫ଇଞ୍ଚ ଉଚ୍ଚତା ରେ ରେ ସୁନ୍ଦର କାଳିଆ ସାଆନ୍ତ ପ୍ରଭୁ ଶ୍ରୀ ଜଗନ୍ନାଥଙ୍କ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ତିଆରି କରିପାରୁଛନ୍ତି। କେବଳ ସେତିକି ନୁହେଁ ଲେଖି କା ହିସାବରେ ସେ ୩ଟି ବହି ଲେଖି ସେ ଜାତୀୟ ଓ ଆନ୍ତର୍ଜାତୀୟ ସ୍ତରରେ ଖ୍ୟାତି ଅର୍ଜନ କରିଛନ୍ତି। ସେ ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ ବୁକ୍ ଅଫ୍ ରେକର୍ଡସ୍ ରେ ୨୦୨୫ରେ କୃତ୍ତିତ୍ବ ହାସଲ କରିଛନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ବିଶେଷ ସୂତ୍ର ରୁ ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଇଛି ରିପୋର୍ଟ ର ଶିବରାମ ଜେନା ସ୍ରିଷ୍ଠି ନିୟୁଜ୍ ସ୍ବତନ୍ତ୍ର ପ୍ରତିନିଧି

ଭୁବନ : ଢେ଼ଙ୍କାନାଳ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଭୁବନ ବ୍ଲକ ଅନ୍ତର୍ଗତ ବାରୁଆଁ ( ବି) ପଞ୍ଚାୟତର ମଠଖୋକସା ଗ୍ରାମର ଅବସରପ୍ରାପ୍ତ ଓ ଏମ୍ ସି କର୍ମଚାରୀ ସୁରେନ୍ଦ୍ର କୁମାର ଦାସ (୬୧) ଙ୍କ ର ଭୁବନେଶ୍ୱରସ୍ଥିତ ଏକ ଘରୋଇ ହସ୍ପିଟାଲରେ ପରଲୋକ ହୋଇଯାଇଛି। ସେ ଗତ କିଛିଦିନ ହେଲା କିଡନୀ ରୋଗରେ ପୀଡ଼ିତ ହୋଇ ଚିକିତ୍ସିତ ହେଉଥିବା ସମୟରେ ଗତକାଲି ରବିବାର ଅପରାହ୍ନରେ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ବରଣ କରିଥିଲେ। ଅନ୍ତିମ ଶଯ୍ୟା ନିକଟରେ ତାଙ୍କ ପତ୍ନୀ ବନିତା ,ପୁଅ ସୁଶାନ୍ତ ,ଝିଅ ଲକ୍ଷ୍ମୀପ୍ରିୟା ,ଜ୍ୱାଇଁ ସନ୍ତୋଷ ପଟ୍ଟନାୟକ,ପୁତୁରା ପ୍ରୀତିଶ,ଦିପ୍ତିଶ,ଶ୍ରୀକାନ୍ତ ଉପସ୍ଥିତ ଥିଲେ । ମର ଶରୀର ଗ୍ରାମରେ ପହଞ୍ଚିବା ପରେ ବହୁ ମାନ୍ୟଗଣ୍ୟ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ଅନ୍ତିମ ଦର୍ଶନ କରି ଶ୍ରଦ୍ଧାଞ୍ଜଳି ଅର୍ପଣ କରିଥିଲେ। ବନ୍ଧୁ ପରିବାର ବର୍ଗ,ଆତ୍ମୀୟ ସ୍ୱଜନ ଓ ଶତାଧିକ ଗ୍ରାମବାସୀ ଶବାଧାରରେ ସାମିଲ ହୋଇଥିଲେ। ଗ୍ରାମ ଶ୍ମଶାନରେ ଅନ୍ତିମ ସଂସ୍କାର କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ପୁତ୍ର ସୁଶାନ୍ତ ମୂଖାଗ୍ନି ଦେଇଥିଲେ । ସ୍ୱର୍ଗତ ସୁରେନ୍ଦ୍ର ବାବୁ ଜଣେ ବନ୍ଧୁ ବତ୍ସଳ,ସ୍ନେହୀ, ମେଳାପୀ ଓ ପରୋପକାରୀ ବ୍ୟକ୍ତି ହୋଇଥିବାରୁ ତାଙ୍କ ବିୟୋଗରେ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ଗଭୀର ଶୋକ ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଇଛି।
