Discussion on Water, Land, Forest and Mineral Resources

Bhubaneswar: Environmentalist Prafulla Samantara and social activist Bhalachandra Sarangi were seen engaged in a discussion on issues related to water, land, forests and mineral resources in Odisha. The discussion focused on the protection of Odisha’s natural resources, the impact of mining activities on forests and water sources, and the rights and livelihoods of tribal and forest-dependent communities. The two activists also discussed the need to protect water sources, agricultural land and forest areas from environmental degradation and to ensure that local communities have a meaningful role in decisions concerning natural resources. The meeting highlights the continuing public debate over mining, environmental protection and the rights
