Nuapada Pushes for Faster Development: Collector Stresses Timely Execution of Key Projects

NUAPADA, AUGUST 25: A District Development Committee (DDC) meeting was held at the Sadbhavana Sabhagruha in Nuapada under the chairmanship of District Collector Madhusudan Dash, with a focus on accelerating the district’s overall development and strengthening coordination among various government departments. The meeting brought together senior district officials, including Additional Collector Subash Chandra Rait, Chief Development Officer-cum-Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Lambodar Dharua, DFO (Territorial) Aziz Khan, Additional Superintendent of Police Ranjit Nayak, Chief District Medical Officer Dr. Dwarikanath Satapathy, APD Kshamanidhi Bhoi, along with BDOs, Tahsildars and other district-level officers. Deputy Director (Statistics) Dileswar Dharua presented the proceedings of the previous DDC meeting and the status of compliance on decisions taken earlier. The Collector subsequently reviewed the progress of various departmental schemes and development projects, taking stock of implementation, bottlenecks and measures required to resolve pending issues. Nuapada NAC recognised for outstanding performance The Collector congratulated the Nuapada NAC authorities after the urban local body was selected as a Best Performing Urban Local Body (ULB) and nominated for a cash award of ₹2 crore. Describing the achievement as a significant milestone in the district’s urban development journey, he urged the NAC authorities to maintain the momentum and continue delivering improved civic services. The performance of OSWAS was also reviewed during the meeting. The Collector announced that the top five best-performing departments/offices under OSWAS would be recognised and felicitated, encouraging officials to improve efficiency and ensure timely disposal of official work. Focus on tourism and infrastructure Tourism and infrastructure development also figured prominently in the discussions. The Collector directed the R&B Department to prepare a Detailed Project Report (DPR) for the development of Salihagada, with the objective of strengthening the area’s tourism potential and associated infrastructure. Emphasising the need for greater inter-departmental coordination, the Collector directed officials to ensure that development projects are completed within stipulated timelines. He stressed that public needs must remain at the centre of development planning and urged officials to work with dedication and a service-oriented approach to place Nuapada firmly on the path of faster and inclusive development. Gramodaya meeting held A Gramodaya meeting was also conducted on the occasion, focusing on ongoing development activities in rural areas, basic amenities and the implementation of various government welfare and development schemes. The meeting concluded with an emphasis on coordinated action, effective monitoring and time-bound execution of projects so that the benefits of government initiatives reach people at the grassroots level.
