District-Level Panchayat Conference Held in Nuapada on VB-G RAM G Act: Focus on Effective Grassroots Implementation and Strengthening Rural Livelihood Security

Nuapada, August 14: A district-level Panchayat Conference on the Viksit Bharat–G-RAM-G Act, 2025, aimed at creating grassroots awareness and ensuring its effective implementation, was held in Nuapada under the chairmanship of District Collector Madhusudan Dash.
The conference brought together all Sarpanches and Panchayat Samiti members from Sinapali and Khariar blocks, providing a platform to discuss the objectives, key provisions and implementation strategy of the newly introduced legislation.
Additional Executive Officer (Administration), Zilla Parishad, Kshamanidhi Bhoi, along with the MGNREGS Coordinator, Zilla Parishad, I-NRM experts and other concerned officials, attended the programme.
Addressing the gathering, Collector Madhusudan Dash elaborated on the objectives, major features and key provisions of the VB-G-RAM-G Act, 2025. He stressed that the success of the legislation would largely depend on its transparent, participatory and effective implementation at the grassroots level.
The Collector emphasised the need for participatory planning, identification of works based on local requirements and timely execution of projects. He called upon elected representatives and officials to ensure that the benefits of the scheme reach every eligible rural household without discrimination or delay.
Highlighting the importance of the legislation for a district like Nuapada, the Collector said it has significant potential to strengthen rural livelihood security and reduce distress migration and labour migration. He stressed that adequate employment opportunities should be generated for rural families while simultaneously creating durable and productive rural assets.
Sarpanches and Panchayat Samiti members were urged to play an active and responsible role in the successful implementation of the Act. The conference stressed coordinated action at the Panchayat level so that no eligible rural family is deprived of employment and livelihood security.
The conference also served as an important orientation platform for elected representatives, enabling them to understand various aspects of the VB-G-RAM-G Act and their responsibilities in its implementation.
The programme concluded with a renewed emphasis on people-centric planning, transparency, accountability and effective grassroots participation to translate the objectives of the Act into tangible livelihood opportunities and sustainable rural development across Nuapada district.
