My City, My Responsibility: Sankalp Seva Sangh Conducts Cleanliness Drive During Gundicha Rath Yatra
Sinapali, July 15 The Gundicha Rath Yatra is not merely a festival of devotion and spirituality; it also conveys a powerful message of social responsibility. Upholding this noble spirit, Sankalp Seva Sangh, Sinapali, organized a large-scale cleanliness drive across several key locations in the town. Armed with brooms, a spirit of selfless service, and a deep sense of civic responsibility, the volunteers dedicated their time and effort to spread the message of cleanliness and community service. Keeping in mind the convenience of devotees and the importance of maintaining a clean environment during Lord Jagannath’s Gundicha Yatra, the volunteers cleaned Jagannath Chowk, Triveni Chowk, Ravan Chowk, Gayatri Chowk, Durga Mandir Road, Trinath Chowk, Tahasil Office Road, Gudiya Chowk, the Bus Stand, and the Mausi Maa Temple premises. They collected garbage from public places and also appealed to citizens to maintain cleanliness and protect the environment. Speaking on the occasion, members of the organization emphasized that cleanliness is not solely the responsibility of the government but a shared duty of every responsible citizen. They said that if every individual resolves to keep their surroundings clean, it will pave the way for a healthier, cleaner, and more beautiful society. Their dedicated service has inspired many and created a positive awareness within the community. The cleanliness campaign witnessed the active participation of Narendra Naik, Dinesh Kumar Meher, Vidyadhar Sahu (Shailesh), Chittaranjan Meher (Jaga), Lilakar Sahu (Montu), Ganesh Ram Meher, Sanurjya Meher, Buddhadev Meher (Raju), Suraj Kumar Meher, Yudhishthir Meher (Kahnu), Naresh Kumar Majhi, Mahendra Meher (Sangram), Sohan Meher, Kunjabihari Barik (Montu), Lingaraj Jagat (Manoj), and Girish Majhi, who voluntarily devoted their valuable time to the noble cause. Local intellectuals and residents highly appreciated this commendable initiative of Sankalp Seva Sangh. They expressed that such community service activities strengthen the values of discipline, volunteerism, and social responsibility among the youth while encouraging greater public participation in keeping the town clean. With the inspiring message that “The highest form of devotion is service, and the truest expression of service is cleanliness,” the cleanliness drive by Sankalp Seva Sangh has emerged as an exemplary initiative for the people of Sinapali, demonstrating that collective efforts can bring meaningful and lasting change to society.
