This has been exemplified by Akash Ranjan Munda, a young para athlete from Chhendia village in Kalahandi district. By winning a gold medal for India at the 2026 World Ability Sports Youth Games held in Turkey, Akash has brought immense pride not only to his native village but also to the entire nation. Currently pursuing his studies at KIIT College, Akash was felicitated by Radio Swar Sangam 90.8 FM, Sinapali, Nuapada district, in recognition of his outstanding achievement. He was honoured with a traditional shawl and a bouquet as a mark of appreciation for his remarkable contribution to Indian sports.
