Unexpected development marks retirement of Boden Block Education Officer; newly appointed CRCC receives warm welcome
Boden, July 1
An unexpected incident overshadowed the retirement of Boden Block Education Officer (BEO) Rudreshwar Meher in Nuapada district on Tuesday, leaving several teachers disappointed after they were unable to meet him on his last day in office.
Acting on the call of the Boden Block Teachers’ Association, headmasters, teachers, and education staff from various schools gathered at the Block Education Office to bid farewell to the retiring BEO and express their gratitude for his years of service. However, when they reached his office chamber in the afternoon, they found that Mr. Meher was not present.
Despite waiting for a considerable time, the teachers could not meet the retiring officer. The unexpected absence reportedly caused disappointment among those who had come to offer their farewell wishes, and several teachers expressed their dissatisfaction over the situation.
Meanwhile, the occasion also marked the joining of Pabitra Majhi as the new Cluster Resource Centre Coordinator (CRCC). Teachers and staff present at the office accorded him a warm welcome by presenting a bouquet and extending their best wishes for a successful tenure.
Among those present were Teachers’ Association President Dhabale Harijan, Vice-President Mangal Singh Majhi, senior teachers Lokanath Nial and Biranchi Majhi, CRCCs Dharmendra Nayak, Ramesh Khamari, Gobinda Majhi, and Ramesh Dharua. Senior office assistant Kamal Majhi, Bhabani Joshi, and other office staff also attended the programme.
Teachers who had gathered to honour the retiring BEO eventually returned home without meeting him. No official explanation has yet been provided regarding Mr. Meher’s absence from the office on his retirement day, leading to discussions within the teaching community about the unexpected turn of events.
