Sinapali Police Take Anti-Drug Pledge to Build a Drug-Free Society
Police call for collective public participation; anti-drug awareness campaign to be intensified Sinapali, July 1 In a significant step towards building a drug-free society and protecting the younger generation from substance abuse, the Sinapali Police in Nuapada district organised an Anti-Drug Pledge Programme on Wednesday. All police officers and personnel of the police station participated in the event and pledged to combat drug abuse and illegal trafficking with commitment and determination. During the programme, the participants resolved to create awareness among the public about the harmful effects of substance abuse, protect youth from falling prey to addiction, curb the spread of narcotic substances, and actively contribute towards creating a healthy, safe, and drug-free society. Speaking on the occasion, police officials said that drug addiction affects not only an individual but also disrupts families and poses a serious threat to society as a whole. They observed that substance abuse often leads to social crimes, domestic conflicts, and the destruction of the future of young people. They urged citizens to treat the fight against drugs as a collective social responsibility rather than considering it solely the duty of the police. The police administration informed that anti-drug awareness programmes, pledge ceremonies, rallies, and public meetings will be organised in schools, colleges, gram panchayats, and other public places in the coming days. It also warned that strict surveillance would be maintained against the illegal trade of narcotic substances and that stringent legal action would be taken against offenders. Police officials stressed that a drug-free society can only be achieved through active public participation and cooperation. Through the pledge programme, they appealed to people to adopt a drug-free lifestyle and spread awareness within their communities. It is noteworthy that under the Nasha Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, several awareness initiatives are being carried out across Nuapada district. The anti-drug pledge organised by the Sinapali Police has been widely appreciated by local residents and is being viewed as a positive step towards creating a healthier and addiction-free society.
