Aravinda Hota Honoured as ‘Swachhata Doot’ for Outstanding Contribution to Cleanliness and Social Service

Sinapali, June 29 In recognition of his unwavering commitment to social service and environmental conservation, Aravinda Hota, a resident of Sagunbhadi village under Chatiaguda Gram Panchayat in Sinapali block of Nuapada district, was honoured with the prestigious “Swachhata Doot” (Cleanliness Ambassador) award by the district administration on Monday. A dedicated social worker and cleanliness crusader, Hota has emerged as a source of inspiration through his selfless efforts to promote sanitation, environmental awareness, and public welfare. Deeply influenced by the ideals of Utkalamani Pandit Gopabandhu Das, he has devoted himself to serving society with humility and dedication. Beginning his day as early as 4:00 a.m., Hota follows a disciplined routine of yoga, pranayama, and physical exercise before setting out on his morning walk. During his visits to nearby villages, he interacts with residents, understands their concerns, and encourages them to maintain clean surroundings and adopt environmentally responsible practices. Whenever necessary, he personally participates in cleaning public places, setting an example through action rather than words. He continues similar awareness activities during his evening walks, earning the admiration and affection of the local community. Hota has also played a significant voluntary role in advancing Nuapada district’s campaign for a single-use plastic-free society. His tireless efforts, selfless service, and commitment to environmental protection have contributed meaningfully to strengthening the district’s vision of a cleaner, healthier, and greener future. Acknowledging his remarkable contribution, Nuapada Collector Madhusudan Das presented him with the “Swachhata Doot” honour during a district-level function. Expressing his gratitude after receiving the award, Hota said that the recognition would further strengthen his determination to continue working for society and inspire others to actively participate in cleanliness and environmental conservation initiatives. On the same occasion, Kunjabihari Meher of Ghantiguda Gram Panchayat and Arun Kumar Harijan of Godal Gram Panchayat were also felicitated with the “Swachhata Doot” award for their commendable contributions towards promoting cleanliness and public awareness in their respective areas. The honour reflects the district administration’s continued efforts to encourage grassroots volunteers whose dedication and community spirit are helping transform Nuapada into a model district for cleanliness, environmental sustainability, and civic responsibility.
