Sinapali Gears Up for Rath Yatra with Devotion, Tradition and Discipline: Detailed Preparations Finalised at Committee Meeting

With the aim of celebrating the upcoming Lord Jagannath Rath Yatra in a grand, disciplined and spiritually enriching manner, a crucial preparatory meeting was held on Friday at the premises of the Jagannath Temple in Sinapali, Nuapada district. The meeting was chaired by Baishampayan Meher, President of the Temple Management Committee and a senior advocate, during which detailed discussions were held on the religious rituals and overall management of the annual festival.
The committee reviewed the arrangements for all major rituals associated with the Rath Yatra, including Snana Yatra, Anasara Niti, Netrotsava, Rath Yatra, Hera Panchami, Bahuda Yatra, Suna Besha, Adharapana, and Niladri Bije. Members unanimously resolved to ensure that every ritual is conducted smoothly while preserving the temple’s traditions and sanctity.
Special emphasis was laid on crowd management during the Rath Yatra and Bahuda Yatra. The committee discussed comprehensive arrangements for traffic regulation, cleanliness, safe drinking water, primary medical facilities, and public safety to ensure a hassle-free experience for the thousands of devotees expected to participate. Responsibilities were also assigned to temple servitors and volunteers to facilitate the smooth conduct of the festivities.
At the outset, Tulasi Ram Meher, Secretary of the Temple Management Committee, welcomed the members and presented the agenda and objectives of the meeting.
Among those present were Dambarudhar Meher, Lokanath Meher, Hrudananda Majhi, Purnachandra Meher, Narayan Patra, Kshirasindhu Meher, Ariganjan Joshi, Haresh Jain, Nabin Chandra Meher, Narahari Meher, Lambodar Meher, Manoj Jain, Trinath Meher, Shantanu Joshi, Baishnab Meher, Tapiram Meher, Khusiram Meher, Nandakumar Patra, Ajit Joshi, Vidyadhar Meher, Manish Patel, Alok Meher, Chintamani Sahu, Pradeep Meher, Dinesh Meher, Shankar Meher, Nilanchal Meher, Ishwar Prasad Meher, Ganapati Meher, Haduram Meher, Mohan Das, Sanjay Behera, Atmaram Sunani, Kshirasindhu Meher, Murali Meher, Jiten Meher, Dhrubacharan Meher, Tolaram Meher, Jyotiprakash Meher, Daitari Barik, Tapeshwar Meher, Makaradhwaj Sa, Ramakrishna Meher, Hrudananda Meher, Jagamohan Meher, Lambodar Majhi, Kalakahnu Sahu, Sanurya Meher, Khageswar Meher, Gobardhan Meher, Prabhat Meher, Pradyumna Chinda, Bhishmaraj Meher, and Srikanta Meher, along with hundreds of devotees.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Rupesh Chandra Meher.
Sinapali’s historic Rath Yatra attracts thousands of devotees every year. Keeping this in view, the Temple Management Committee has begun extensive preparations to ensure that this year’s festival is conducted in a safe, well-organised, and spiritually vibrant atmosphere while upholding the rich traditions associated with Lord Jagannath.
