International Yoga Day Observed at Sinapali and Gandabahali

International Yoga Day was celebrated with enthusiasm at Sinapali and Gandabahali in Nuapada district, highlighting the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental well-being.
A block-level yoga gathering was organized at the Gayatri Shakti Peeth in Sinapali through the joint initiative of the Sinapali Block Administration, Patanjali Yoga Samiti, and Gayatri Shakti Peeth. Secretary of the Yoga Samiti, Naveen Chandra Meher, welcomed the participants. The programme was coordinated by Tehsil In-charge Hrushikesh Meher.
Among those present were ABDO Subrata Kumar Parida, BSSO Harekrushna Naik, Assistant BSSO Omprakash Majhi, WEO Sunil Samal, Junior Engineer Lileswar Majhi, Purnachandra Meher, Tulsiram Meher, Manish Patel, Trinath Meher, Priyaranjan Meher, Nandakumar Patra, Khusiram Meher, Banshidhar Jagat, Rajesh Agrawal, and Tarun Kumar Meher. Trinath Meher conducted the yoga session as the yoga instructor.
Similarly, a yoga camp was organized at the Gandabahali High School playground under the supervision of the Ayushman Arogya Mandir. Students from the local high school, Saraswati Shishu Mandir, and members of the public actively participated in the event.
Dr. Vidyabhushan Barik of the Gandabahali Ayushman Arogya Mandir attended as the chief guest, while Headmaster Jagannath Sethi and Panchayat Executive Officer Hemsagar Sahu were present as guests of honour. Droneshwar Jagat and Gitanjali Meher served as yoga instructors.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Gupteswar Meher. Science teacher Kailash Chandra Das conducted the prize distribution ceremony for students who excelled in competitions organized in connection with International Yoga Day.
Speakers at both events emphasized the growing importance of yoga in today’s fast-paced world, stressing its role in maintaining physical fitness, mental balance, and overall well-being. The celebrations witnessed active participation from students, officials, yoga practitioners, and local residents.
