Humanity Scripted Through Blood Donation: Grand Awareness Rally and Blood Donation Camp Mark World Blood Donor Day in Nuapada
Nuapada, 14/06 With the aim of spreading the significance of voluntary blood donation across every section of society, a grand blood donation awareness and social service programme was organized in Nuapada district on the occasion of World Blood Donor Day. The event, jointly organized by Students Raktadata Mahasangha, Nuapada, Odisha and the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), Nuapada, marked the celebration of its 5th Annual Day, along with a voluntary blood donation camp and awareness programme, conveying a strong message of humanity and social responsibility throughout the district. The programme commenced with a massive awareness rally from the premises of DHH Nuapada to National High School, Nuapada. Carrying banners and placards promoting the importance of blood donation, members of NCC, Scouts, YRC, and hundreds of volunteers actively participated in the rally. The event successfully created public awareness about the need and value of voluntary blood donation, spreading a positive message across the town. The programme was graced by several distinguished guests, including Nuapada MLA Jay Dholakia, District Collector Madhusudan Das, 2nd Commandant of CRPF 216 Battalion Radheshyam, Assistant Commandant of CRPF 19 Battalion Munna Prasad, CDMO Dr. Dwarikanath Satpathy, and the DPO, who encouraged the public, especially the youth, to actively participate in voluntary blood donation. The dignitaries described blood donation as one of the noblest humanitarian acts that can save countless lives. A total of 34 units of blood were collected during the blood donation camp. Health officials stated that the collected blood would play a crucial role in saving the lives of patients during medical emergencies. The guests highly appreciated the dedication, enthusiasm, and humanitarian spirit displayed by the voluntary blood donors. One of the major highlights of the programme was the presentation of the “Seva Samman” (Service Honour) awards. Individuals who had made remarkable contributions in the fields of social service and human welfare were felicitated for their efforts. The recognition served as a source of inspiration for the younger generation present at the event. The programme concluded successfully through the collective efforts of the members of Students Raktadata Mahasangha, staff of DHH Nuapada, NCC, Scouts, YRC volunteers, and numerous social workers. In his concluding remarks, Harshabardhan, Founder of Students Raktadata Mahasangha, Nuapada, expressed heartfelt gratitude to all guests, blood donors, supporting organizations, and volunteers for their invaluable contribution. He appealed for continued support in future humanitarian initiatives and reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to serving society. The enthusiastic participation of Nuapada’s youth in this noble cause of blood donation has undoubtedly set an inspiring example of compassion, responsibility, and service to humanity.
